Janice is a co-founder and Director of Redshift. She also founded Spectrum Strategy Consultants, a business focused on the media and telecommunications sectors that had over a hundred consultants and offices in nine countries. Janice is a highly experienced strategy consultant who has also worked across the mobile, fixed, radio spectrum, entertainment, music and retail sectors. She was a lead partner in Booz Allen's European TMT practice, and has managed multimillion pound assignments for major corporate clients across the world. She has also advised governments on regulatory issues in Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, UK and Europe. She has written several books, and has an Economics degree from Cambridge University. She is currently President of Médecins du Monde UK and on the Corporate Advisory Board of Tate.
Stephen is a former McKinsey consultant and Stanford MBA who has been advising media groups on their strategic direction for over 20 years. During that time he has worked with all the UK's terrestrial broadcasters and leading production companies as well as traditional print and business publishers, government and regulators. He is also an award-winning film producer. Recent work includes a comprehensive assessment of the future of connected TV for Ofcom, and helping BARB develop a unified approach to audience measurement and data, bringing together information from linear and connected viewing. He has also worked extensively on payments systems for the TV industry.
Ian is a Partner at Redshift, focusing on telecoms, IoT and digital media. Ian has extensive industry and consulting experience in the TMT sectors, spanning work with public and private sector clients in more than 20 countries. Ian's expertise includes strategy, strategic planning, policy, business development, bids, technology innovation, organisational development, data analytics, strategy-to-implementation assurance and advising on smart innovations into new sectors such as energy, transport and utilities. Ian has a degree in Engineering Science from Oxford, an MBA from Kingston Business School and he is a Chartered Engineer.
Jenny is a Partner and Managing Director in Redshift’s Hong Kong office, overseeing the Asia Pacific region. Jenny has extensive experience in telecommunications, IT, digital media and consumer goods where she has led projects across Greater China, SEA, South Asia, Australia, New Zealand and the Middle East. She has also worked on projects that span the luxury goods, retail, e-commerce, home shopping, and mobile gaming sectors. Jenny’s expertise lies in business and strategic planning, market and technology assessment, operations improvement and valuation. Prior to Redshift, Jenny was a Partner and Managing Director at Spectrum Value Partners. She holds an MBA degree and an MSc degree in Information Systems Management both from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, as well as having an LLB and PCLL from the University of Hong Kong. Jenny is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese and English.
Sam is a Partner at Redshift, focused primarily on telecoms and converged services sectors. Sam has extensive experience across the telecoms and media sectors both in strategy advisory and industry. Prior to joining Redshift, Sam was the Corporate Strategy Director at the GSMA where he worked closely with mobile operator executives around the world to set a strategic roadmap for the global telecoms industry. He has held previous roles as a Senior Manager at Greenwich Consulting where he advised clients across North America, Europe, Africa, Middle East and Asia including smartphone vendors, mobile operators, network infrastructure providers, content distributors and global card schemes, and as a Commercial Manager for Virgin Media specialising in pricing. He started his career at Spectrum Strategy Consultants. He holds a degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Oxford University.
Rob is a consultant at Redshift, who mainly focuses on projects that involve data manipulation or modelling. Recently, Rob has worked on developing a project to develop a data strategy for a major UK TV platform operator, building on an in-depth knowledge of data collection techniques and a high-level view of the tools and techniques for data manipulation and monetisation. For this project, Rob built on experience of helping to develop a specification for the future integration of video-on-demand viewing over IP with the existing BARB TV audience measurement system, codenamed 'Project Dovetail'. Rob is currently part of another BARB project team to develop the 'UK TV & Video landscape report' on a quarterly basis, discussing the emerging trends in the BARB Establishment Survey data. Rob has extensive experience in business modelling; he has worked on a variety of analytical models, including radio spectrum valuations, assessments of future PSB distribution costs and a cross-device viewing forecast for a major UK broadcaster.
